The C237 Butterfly release, originally scheduled for Wednesday, October 28, will now take place Thursday, October 22, at 8 pm EDT.
Why we’re moving the release: Earlier this week, it was reported that eMudhra, one of the organizations that issue digital certificates used to verify websites and systems across the internet, had several of its security keys compromised. This is a broad internet security issue. Technology providers across the industry, including Google, Apple, and Mozilla, are rolling out updates in response, and Butterfly is doing the same. eMudhra has revoked the affected certificates and no attacks using them have been reported.
To keep the connections between Butterfly and your systems (such as PACS, VNA, and EHR integrations) secure, we’re moving up C237 so it includes protections against these compromised certificates. At this time, we have no indication that any Butterfly or customer data has been affected.
What to expect: The release is expected to take about two hours. During this time, studies sent to your downstream systems may be delayed and you may experience intermittent disruptions accessing studies and worklists. While we expect all integrations to reconnect automatically, we recommend checking your Link, PACS/VNA, and EHR connections once the release is complete.
